My final project is finally here!

My proposal is available at the top of the sidebar in the wiki (or click here).

My presentation is a little...unorthodox.  I hope you like it.

About

Bio

Greetings and salutations. I'm Gabrielle Casieri (you can call me GMC if you don't feel like typing all 9 letters of my 1st name). I am a part-time MLIS student at SCILS, in my LAST YEAR!!!!! I am on the School Library track, so this is my one elective. This year, I am the co-President of RUasis&t (RU chapter of the American Society for Information Science & Technology).

I have been married for what seems like a really long time, and my family includes my husband (Chris), my 10-year-old daughter (Ivy), my 8-1/2-year-old son (James), and a firebelly toad (Toady). Something you wouldn't know by looking at me is that I am the oldest of 10 children -- I have 3 younger sisters and 6 younger brothers.

For the past 8 years, I have successfully avoided having a "real" job, with the exception of a 6-month project (12/07-6/08) in one of the Princeton University Libraries. I am looking forward to finishing school this year and (hopefully) finding an elementary school who needs an SLMS with mad SCILS...

Favorite Quotes from our readings for this class....

"Indeed, much of the 'infosphere' continues to resemble one of those open-mike poetry readings in New York bars where everyone comes to read and very few to listen" (Brown & Duguid, xiii).

"The experience of surfing the Internet is akin to wandering around the hexagonal galleries of Borges' Library of Babel" (Keen, p. 84).

"Wikipedia should be the first source of information, not the last.  It should be a site for information exploration, not the definitive source of facts." (Anderson, p. 69)

This is one of my favorite childhood poems...my dad (and his mother) can recite it from memory:
