Bio

I'm currently a part-time grad student at Rutgers University pursuing an MLIS (12 credits done so far). I'm interested in how archival materials and history can be preserved and interpreted in a era of digital technology. I have a B. A. in Art History and have worked in publishing, libraries, and sundry other places.

I'm also a writer; most of my published writing concerns birds and birding. My work has appeared in Birding, The Chronicle of the Horse, International Wader Studies, and New Jersey Birds (formerly Records of New Jersey Birds). I've been interested in natural history for my whole life and have been a birder for over 20 years. I'm a voting member and Assistant Secretary of the New Jersey Bird Records Committee.

When my not-so-copious free time allows, I enjoy demented day-trips with two of my friends. We brake for birds, bugs, ruins, roadside Americana, food, and stick figures in peril, among other things; some of the results show up on my Flickr account. I also enjoy science fiction and fantasy, genealogy, cooking, and a wide variety of music, among other things.
