  • Create an account on one of: librarything |  shelfari | goodreads | Digg | Reddit | Slashdot
    • (Try a service you aren't already using)
    • Create a 1-2 paragraph (or equivalent) post with a short review/explanation of the service
  • compare del.icio.us to ma.gnolia
• Comment on blog posts
  • Read the blog post on librarything/shelfari/goodreads... of the people 3 away from you
  • Make a short comment on whether you'd use or not use the service they reviewed based on their review (ok if overlap)
• Review the help page of delicious if needed
• Create a del.icio.us  account (xxscils598...)
  • Remember your URL will be del.icio.us/xxscils598...  OR delicious.com/xxscils598...
• Add some bookmarks
  • Click on the link to "your bookmarks"
  • Cick on Save a New Bookmark and add the url for the class wiki, use "Rutgers SCILS 598" (leave out the " ") for description,  use scils598f08 and  library2.0  for tags
  • Click on post and add the url http://tametheweb.com/ , use Michael Stephens blog on all things library2.0 for the description, review tag "suggestions" that pop-up and pick if applicable or just use library2.0
• Social Bookmark Group Project
  • bookmark a @10 sites that would tell the world more about who you are
    • don't think more, think BEST
  • tag each as you like, but also add the tag scils598f08
  • check out other's bookmarks, let's see if there's crossover

• Create a del.icio.us network
  • click on the link for "your network"
  • add librarysteve
  • add your classmates
• Adding a link roll/tag roll (cloud) to blogger
  • On del.icio.us - Settings - link roll or tag roll (pick which settings you want)
  • Copy the javascript code from del.icio.us and add to a page element on your blog
• Subscribe to 
  • the scils598f08 tag (we'll use this throughout the rest of the semester)
