I'm Tara: current coffee addict, former film worker, onetime English teacher, and a real, live MLIS student. I work at the SMLR/James Carey Labor Library on Cook Campus part time, and at Rutgers Center for Management Development full time; tuition remission is awesome! I graduate once this class is complete, and from there, I'm pursuing film preservation/archival work. My goal here is to gain some technical prowess - hence, the lo-tech approach and the snurchin' from Steve's wiki page. I'm not too proud to 'borrow' from my superiors!!
Spare time? What's that?! I try to see every film that comes out. From the clip above, you'll probably guess that Ridley Scott (the director - he also made Blade Runner, probably the most visually prescient film of its time) is a favorite. It was either this or a clip from Terry Gilliam's Brazil - that man's a genius, too. (Orwell much?!) I obviously hate reading. And writing. ( I love snark, sarcasm, and irony!) And I'm always excited to pack up and go somewhere: I just returned from San Francisco. I think there will be some travel in my future this November & December...
